April ipsy Bag!

Hello my friends!

I received my April ipsy Glam Bag in the mail early last week, but took me a while to write up a post about it as the awful stomach bug hit our house. Ugh! But thankfully we are all on the mend now.

This month's bag them was Pretty In Pink!
The bag this month is a cute little white bag with a pink zipper and pink and white stripes on the inside. Included in the bag was a card telling about Generation Beauty at LA Live (the home of the Grammy's after-party), which is in LA on May 31-June 2. On the card was some information about Generation Beauty and also a code to use to get a discount on your ticket. On the main card, it shows the various product names included in the bag this month and special discounts you can get if you buy any of the products.

From looking at my Glam Room on ipsy.com there was some variety with the bags this month! I'll let you know at the end of this blog post what other people might have received if they didn't get the products I got.

Oh, and the best part - 3 of the 4 items I got this month were Full Size items!!!! :)

I'm excited to give these a try. I like that I can use them as an eyeshadow or a blush. Seems like they will add just enough color to my skin if put on lightly.

Mae's Handcrafted Natural Soap Giveaway!!!!

Aunt Mae's

Have you read about all the harmful ingredients in store-bought soap yet the thought of making your own is too intimidating? Would you like to wash with a gentle lather safe enough for a baby's skin? Then let me introduce you to Mae’s Handcrafted Natural Soaps. These natural soaps made with real tallow will delight your senses! Mae lovingly makes all her soaps in small batches to ensure the highest quality. She uses the best of the best ingredients: real tallow is gentle on your skin while at the same time is used for the bar's hardness, which means it doesn't get mushy in the shower. Olive oil is added for further gentleness along with a touch of coconut oil for a fluffy lather.

  Cranberry-Fig-resized-300x199

Only high quality soap scents or essential oils are used, and even then they are added with a light hand. Mae's bars give you an absolutely delicious scent you can enjoy in the shower, without becoming obtrusive during the day. Even her coloring agents are of a natural origin. These unique combinations make long-lasting, gentle bars that your whole family will love.

You Can Win Natural Handcrafted Soap!

Would you like to win some of Mae's Natural Handcrafted Soap for yourself? Well, here's your chance! Enter below and be one of SIX winners for a $25 credit that you can use to chose your favorite soaps from Mae's delicious selections.

Aunt Mae

This review and giveaway is on behalf of a dear friend and sister in Christ who unexpectedly lost her beloved husband in February of this year. He left Mae and a young son behind, reeling from their loss. Mae’s husband had been out of work for a year, living off of a small military pension. The family, understandably, had to cut back on expenses - one of which was their life insurance policies. His sudden death now leaves Mae and their son with very little income (less than a couple hundred dollars a month). Because of different personal situations, she is currently ineligible for benefits like Social Security. Mae homeschools their son, and thanks to The Home School Foundation, she will receive a grant to cover homeschooling supplies and curriculum. She is asking the Lord to provide for her son and herself through her small businesses, one of which is making soaps and other body products. As you can see, the situation is dire for this sweet widow and her son, but we know that God is able to do more than we could ever think, or ask (Eph. 3:20), and we hope that you will consider joining up with us to help our dear friend by supporting her business. We're asking you, dear readers, to seriously consider the call of James 1:27—to care for widows and orphans and consider Mae's Handcrafted Natural Soaps for your next soap purchase.
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. James 1: 27
Anyone who knows Mae is touched by her. She is an incredibly godly woman, who acts as a Titus 2 mentor to those who know her. She is loved so dearly and we want to do all we can to support her during this incredibly difficult time! Please pass this on by sharing this giveaway on Facebook and Twitter.

March BirchBox

March BirchBox!
So, I am a bit delayed in writing this as there was a "boo-boo" with my box when it arrived. I opened it and was a little disappointed with what I saw...until I looked at the card and noticed that I was missing two samples! Off I went and emailed BirchBox and let them know. Within a couple days I received a response apologizing and letting me know that they were shipping the two missing samples out to me. So I waited to write about it all until my two missing samples came, they got here in a little over a week. And then Easter came around and life has happened, so I am just now getting around to writing this!

This month's theme was March Madness. They filled the boxes with products that made the cut - from up and coming rookies to veteran all stars.

In my box...

Caldrea
Body Lotion
Sample size: 3 packets, each 0.25 fl oz / 7.39 ml
Sample scents: tea olive lime, aloe water apricot, and coconut fig leaf
We adore these elegant body lotions, which come in three ethereal scents.

I LOVE getting body lotion samples :)

Buy It:
BirchBox $22 for 8 oz bottle

MAKE
Dual-Phase Eye Makeup Remover
Sample size: 1 fl oz / 30 ml
(this was one of my samples that was missing)
Opposites attract in this gentle, but seriously effective, remover. Shake to combine the layers of oil, chamomile, and cucumber-infused H2O, then apply with a cotton ball.

Buy It:
BirchBox $18 for 4 fl oz / 120 ml

MAKE
Lipstick
Sample size: very small :)
Color: Taffy
(this was the other sample that was missing)
We were smitten with this new brand's lovely pigments even before we found out that one-third of all sales are donated to charity.

Very small sample, my 2 year old daughter thought it was a play lipstick for her to play with, so I found the color looks very nice with her skin ;) excited to give it some tries

Buy It:
Birchbox $18 (5 colors available)

Serge Normant
Meta Revive Dry Shampoo
Sample size: 2.0 oz / 56.7 g
The A-list stylist created this volume-boosting mist to give second-day locks a lift. The subtle fragrance leaves hair sweetly scented.

I have never used a dry shampoo before, but have been wanting to, so I know this will get some use around this crazy house :)

Buy It:
BirchBox $25 for 4.5 oz / 127 g

Beauty Extra
Madewell for BirchBox
Emery Board
We teamed up with Madewell to create this adorable mani savior, patterned after a print from their new spring collection.

I always think you can never have too many emery boards/nail files! This one is in my purse for when we are out and I need it for my nails. Works great :)

Buy It:
