June BirchBox!

June BirchBox!
This month's theme is Wanderlust. The box is a beauty-travel mash-up. They are filled with samples from near and far that will serve you on all of your summer adventures. Besides the samples, there were also 5 cute postcards included in the box - 4 of them show the various cities BirchBox offices are located in.

In The Box:

BirchBox + Color Club
Wanderlust Collection
Color: Mod In Manhattan
Sample Size: 7 ml / 0.25 fl oz
Inspired by their global offices in four of the world's classic cities, this bold collection of minis features summer's hottest hues. They worked with Color Club to develop these custom shades. Each color is names after one of BirchBox's international headquarters. Reign In Spain: fiery coral. London Calling: a sunny green. Pardon My French: lavender. Mod in Manhattan: a brilliant off-white.

I like the color I got. I never really go for the white shades when I buy nail polish, so this is a new color for my nail polish collection. By itself, its a little too white/plain for me...I could see using it to tone down a color or as a base-coat and applying stripes or polka dots on top for a creative look :)

Miss Jessie's
Original Jelly Soft Curls
Sample Size: 1 pouch containing 1 fl oz / 29 ml
Miss Jessie's is known as the proven expert in curls! This cult favorite is specifically formulated to leave hair supersoft and crunch-free, while delivery enough hold and definition to keep frizz at bay on even the most humid summer days. Wheat proteins condition hair for soft, shiny curls, and the lightweight formula provides lasting definition without leaving any residu or stickiness behind.

I plan on giving this a try tomorrow evening when I have some free time to play with my hair some, excited to see how it works in my hair with the humid-frizz-look going on right now.

Oscar de la Renta
Something Blue
Sample Size: 1 ml / 0.03 fl oz
This perfume is an elegant wear-anywhere scent. Featuring lush floral notes, the feminine blend has enough staying power to last from morning to night. The chic vintage-looking bottle includes a removable engraved ring. Inspired by the iconic designer's silk and lace wedding gowns, this refined blend opens with sparkling notes of mandarin and linden blossom, then mellows into a sultry body of bourbon vanilla and white musk notes.

This is an okay perfume, though I probably would never buy it. The smell isn't my favorite I've ever smelled, was not as feminine-smelling as I expected.

SW Basics
Lip Balm
Scent: Peppermint
Sample Size: 0.15 oz / 4.5 g
SW Basics all-natural balm soothes dry, cracked mouths without depositing tacky residue or excess shine. Packed in a cute tin with four delicious scents - Peppermint, Cocoa, Cinnamon, Citurs - the beeswax-based line-up has a salve to suit any mood. They use select organic and fair trade ingredients to create all their highly potent balms. The base of each flavor is a simple but potent compound of natural wax, coconut oil, and cocoa butter. Fewer additives means less irritation, making this handmade balm ideal for sensitive skin.

I LOVE this lip balm! Smells terrific, goes on so smooth onto the lips, feels wonderful when it is on, and I like that while it is still on I can still smell a hint of it. This is definitely going on my to-buy-list!

Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics
Hi-Definition Hydrating Mineral Perfecting Powder
Color: Translucent

Youngblood's loose mineral powder - with a delicate application it absorbs excess oil, making perfect for a midday or evening touch up. This fine-milled powder has microfine particles that reflect light and minimizes flaws no matter what your skin tone. It provides a perfect matte finish each time, won't change the color of your blush or foundation, and it expertly takes away shine to keep your make-up looking like it was just applied. Available in Translucent and Warmth

I'm excited to give this a try to see how it looks and feels on my skin at various times during the day.

Lifestyle Extra:
Matchbox Itty Bitty Nail Files
Sample Size: 12 mini files
(note: name of the ones being sold is Tweezerman FileMate) Toss this mini-file in your bag to keep nails smooth and snag-free, no matter where your day takes you. This thick emery board has a gritty side to shape nails and file down any brakes or snags, plus a smoother face to gently finish nail edges. It comes in a little plastic case so the file won't damage your sunglasses, jewelry, or any of the other delicate items in your purse.

I always feel like I can't have too many nail files. I love how small these are so I can easily fit it into a small pocket in my purse, or 'hide' them around the house in various rooms so whenever I need one, one will be close by! The samples I received come in a box slightly larger than a matchbox. Cute designs on these too - white background with yellow, green, and blue dots on them.
